The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is Ontario's economic immigration initiative, developed in partnership with the Government of Canada through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).


This program allows foreign workers, international students, and other individuals with the necessary skills, experience, and education to apply for a nomination. The OINP identifies and nominates individuals whose skills and experience align with the needs of Ontario's economy. However, the final decision on granting permanent residence is made by the Government of Canada.


The OINP manages applications through two intake systems: the Expression of Interest system and the Express Entry system. Before applying, you must register in one of these systems to express your interest in being invited to apply. The OINP offers nine streams under which you may be eligible.


Ontario’s Expression of Interest Streams


The following streams are managed through the OINP’s Expression of Interest System. To be considered, you must first register an expression of interest and then receive an invitation to apply.


 

If you have a job offer in Ontario, you can apply through these streams:


 

• Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream

• Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream

• Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream


If you hold a Master’s or PhD degree from an Ontario university, you can apply through these streams:


 

• Masters Graduate Stream

• PhD Graduate Stream


Ontario’s Express Entry Streams


These streams are managed through the federal government’s Express Entry System. To qualify, you must have an Express Entry profile and receive a notification of interest from Ontario.
