Co-Op Work
Permit

If your academic program includes work experience as part of the curriculum, you will need to apply for a co-op work permit. This permit allows students to work full-time during their regular academic terms. Before starting your co-op, you must have both a co-op work permit and a Social Insurance Number. Additionally, you must meet the college's co-op program requirements.

Co-op Requirements:
After obtaining your co-op permit, it's your responsibility to ensure that your co-op experience complies with all regulations. These requirements include:

  • Working full-time (30+ hours per week)

  • Being enrolled in a co-op course

  • Ensuring the co-op duration is roughly equivalent to the length of the academic term

Please be aware that you cannot begin a co-op without approval from the University. It’s essential to consult with your Career and Co-op Advisor before finalising any co-op position.
